After you have installed AE Connect on your website and created your basic email registration, you can add social network sign up options. The first step is creating social apps for each sign up service you want to provide. This article will show you how to create a Facebook app.
Create App on Facebook
Navigate to the Facebook developer site and log in or create an account. Select My Apps in the upper right of your screen.
Click one of the Create App buttons.
Select Authenticate and request data from users with Facebook Login (1), then hit the Next button (2).
Select No, I’m not building a game (1), then hit the Next button (2).
Enter your app details (1), then click the Create app (2) button.
Note: You may need to re-enter your Facebook password to continue.Now on your app dashboard, select App settings (1) and then Basic (2) from the left hand menu.
Fill in the required fields. For User data deletion (1), you can link to our Delete Your Information and Account article for users. Click the Save changes button (2).
On the same page, scroll to the bottom and click Add platform.
Choose Website and hit the Next button.
Enter your website URL in the Site URL field (1) and click the Save changes button (2).
Now navigate to Use cases (1) in the left-hand menu. Click the Customize button (2) next to Authentication and account creation.
Click the Go to settings button.
Scroll down and under Valid OAuth Redirect URIs (1) and Deauthorize callback URL (2), enter: https://get.myfairshare.io/FacebookAuthenticator_Controller. Click the Save changes button (3).
After the page refreshes, scroll down to Redirect URI Validator and in the Redirect URI to Check field enter: https://get.myfairshare.io/FacebookAuthenticator_Controller.
Click the Check URI button (1), and once the confirmation message appears (2), click the Save changes button (3) again.
Navigate back to your app dashboard homepage and select App settings (1) and then Basic (2) from the left hand menu.
Click the show button (1) to see your App secret. Copy your App ID (2) and App secret (3).
Note: You may need to re-enter your Facebook password here.
Setup Facebook App in your Dashboard
In a new tab, navigate to your FairShare dashboard, then to your AE Connect Application page. Scroll down to the Social Apps tab (1) and click on the Facebook icon under Social (2).
Paste your App ID (1) and Secret (2) from step 19 of the previous section in the fields. Click Activate app (3).
You’ll be redirected to your AE Connect Application page where you can see the Facebook app is now active.
