Create Discord App

After you have installed AE Connect on your website and created your basic email registration, you can add social network sign up options. The first step is creating social apps for each sign up service you want to provide. This article will show you how to create a Discord app.

Create App on Discord

  1. Navigate to the Discord Applications site and log in.

  2. Click on the New Application button in the upper right corner.

  3. Enter the name of your application (1), agree to the terms (2) and click the Create button (3).

  4. On the General Information page, enter the details for your application and click the Save Changes button.

  5. Select OAuth2 in the left hand menu (1), then click the Add Redirect button (2) in the Redirects section.

  6. Enter the URL: https://get.myfairshare.io/DiscordAuthenticator_Controller in the field (1), then click the Save Changes button (2).

  7. At the top of the OAuth2 page, copy your Client ID (1) and Client Secret (2).

Warning: Do not navigate away from the OAuth2 page before copying your Client Secret. If you do, reset the Client Secret by clicking the Reset Secret button. Copy the new Client Secret for the next section.

Setup Discord App in your Dashboard

  1. In a new tab, navigate to your FairShare dashboard, then to your AE Connect Application page. Scroll down to the Social Apps tab (1) and click on the Discord icon under Gaming (2).

  2. In the popup form, paste your Client ID (1) and Client Secret (2) from step 7 of the previous section. Click Activate App (3).

  3. You’ll be redirected to your AE Connect Application page where you can see the Discord app is now active.
